Banh Can – a  popular cake in some provinces of South Central Vietnam such as Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan. This delicious litle dish originates from Cham ethnic minorities at Binh Thuan. The cake is made from a rice flour grilled on a special teracotta pan.

Nowadays, Banh Can is being usually served with a lots of toppings such as chicken eggs, quai eggs, squid, pork, shrimps, etc.

When eating Banh Can, a variety of tastes can be experiences: Fleshy taste of rice, fatty taste of eggs or salty taste of sauces used. Sour after star fruit or green mango and sweetness of sweet sauce. Vietnamese believe that Banh Can is not only delicious but also good for health when cooked without oil.
